2026 Tennessee Candidate & Officeholder Filing Deadlines: Statements of Interest & Campaign Finance Reports

Statement of Interest Forms are due 1/31/2026

 

Who does this:

 

  • Anyone who is currently in office and will continue to be in that office for any part of 2026.

 

  • Incumbents running for reelection only need to file the statement of interest the one time, by 1/31/26.

 

  • If a current officeholder is running for a position DIFFERENT from the one they currently hold, they will file another statement of interests after their qualifying deadline. It is not available now.

 


 

More Information:

  • Current Office Holders should have received Statement of Interest forms via email and/or mail along with instructions for filing online in December of 2025.
  • Per guidance from the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance (TREF):; For all new candidates, your statement of interests is due 30 days AFTER the qualifying deadline. Do not file your statement of interests until after the qualifying deadline (March 10 NOON).

 

Year-End Supplemental Reports are due Feb 2, 2026.

 

Who does this: Those reports are filed only by candidates who have open accounts from a previous election or who have filed a treasurer for a future election.

 

  • Reporting Period 7/1/2025-1/15/2026

 

 

 

Quarter 4 Campaign Financial Reports are due Jan 26, 2026.

 

Who does this: If you have a positive balance in your campaign account and ran for office in 2025, you must file a Q4 report
